Trusting Tech - An exploration of the future
In this day and age we are becoming more and more reliant on technology whether for good or for bad. Technology allows us to achieve amazing improvements in our daily lives yet has introduced concerns such as privacy and safety. Where will technology take us next? What if technology was to fail? This exhibition will display works that emphasize the artist's relationship with technology.
Exhibtion Duration: August 6th - October 1st
Deadline for Submissions: June 26th
Theme Entry Information:
- THEME (August) : Technology - Tech related works. Digital Art, Animation, 3D, Moving Image, Installation.
General Entry Information:
(Applies to all current themes)
- Original painting, drawing, prints, photography, mixed media, sculpture, relief, digital / video
- 10 entries max. Per submission, per month. (You can submit 10 new pieces each month for review)
- All wall work must be WIRED and ready for hanging upon drop off. Any work badly framed or with out wire will not be admitted.
- 3D/ Sculpture Entries Limit - 4 per submission, depending on size.
- Floor limitations for sculpture: total submission not to exceed 3ft. width by 3ft. depth by 7ft. height. Must supply your own pedestal or base for sculpture.
- Wall relief -12 in. average depth recommended.
- Entry Fee: FREE!
Selection Process
- Upward Hartford reserves the right to not select any submitted art for any given exhibition.
- Not being selected for a show does not mean we are not considering your work for future exhibitions as they rotate on a monthly basis.
- Art must be available for the duration of exhibition. (30-60 days)
Liability
The artist shows at their own risk. Artwork will be handled with all possible care. Upward Hartford is not responsible for loss or damage to any Artwork. This especially concerns fragile media like photos printed on metal or heavier than usual wall pieces.

We have a regular flow of working members in our co-working space who you can expect will be viewing (& purchasing!) your art during the week.
Receptions and exhibits will be promoted to an audience of more than 2,000 via newsletter and social media.
ARTWORK LABELS – When dropping off art be sure each piece has its corresponding # according to the submitted inventory of works taped to the back of the piece.
