#UpwardLabsSpotlight | DjinnSensor

Have you ever walked into a room and immediately understood its potential risks to your health?

No? We can't say we had either...that is, until we discovered the powerful indoor environmental measuring device from Belarus: DjinnSensor.

The Upward team chatted with DjinnSensor's co-founder and CMO, Alesia Dusmikeeva, and her team about the origins of their IoT and cloud-based PropTech solution, and how they are harnessing powerful data to make indoor environmental metrics accessible and applicable to our everyday life.

UPWARD: Give us DjinnSensor’s elevator pitch.

Alesia Dusmikeeva: DjinnSensor is a human-centered solution for HVAC management, reducing the cost of electricity while also improving indoor air quality and the overall employee environment.

U: What drives you and your team to accomplish your mission?

AD: My young son got ill often from bad environmental conditions in his classroom in Belarus. As we wondered what we could do to help him and his classmates, we decided to make a device that would measure air quality and the conditions inside the room. Soon after the device was developed, we realized it was a great platform for collecting important data not only for children and families, but in other settings such as offices, hospitals, and businesses. We have since adapted the product to include analytics and big data for processing how the indoor environment affects our health in real-time.

U: Why Upward Labs?

AD: We were very interested in expanding into the American market, where we believed our product could be extremely useful for the general population. Upward Labs has many partners with who we wanted to develop relationships in our pilots and then, hopefully, to scale and expand with.

U: Tell us about your upcoming pilots.

AD: We are piloting with Lexington at 1 Financial Plaza and Shelbourne at 100 Pearl Street. Our analytics capabilities have grown so that we can now provide insights to building owners and managers to help increase human productivity and decrease the risk of disease transmission.

U: What is the key takeaway for potential clients, partners, and users of your product?

AD: DjinnSensor’s powerful technology can be used by anyone, whereas many measuring devices on the market provide users with data points that they don’t understand. We provide our customers not only with these data points but actual data processing and analytical indexing in different fields that they can use to understand health outcomes and influence different factors and behaviors in their physical environment.

U: Tell us about you.

AD: I am the CMO and Co-founder of DjinnSensor. I create all marketing content and materials, follow up with leads, and manage media to help with public events, etc.

Assel Orynbassarova: I am the CBDO/CTO, providing all business development and technical support as we move through Upward Labs.

Igor Hizhnyak: I am the COO, managing all current operations. I am also a mathematician and data scientist, translating medical information into data and AI. A fun fact about me is I get around by unicycle.
