UPWARD: Give us the Imagine-X elevator pitch.
Mario Varon: Imagine-X provides an immersive visualization solution for companies to better sell their products through digital channels, mobile apps, and other forms of e-commerce.
U: What drives you and your team to accomplish your mission?
MV: We recognized that there was a high degree of uncertainty when it came to envisioning how a product you see online would actually look in your home or office space. Standard photo and video technologies are outdated, have limited features, and are not an immersive experience for the user by any means. We exist to raise engagement and interactivity by creating virtual environments that complement your ideal physical spaces.

U: Why Upward Labs?
MV: We saw Upward Labs as an opportunity to replicate and amplify our business model from Colombia’s limited market size into the much bigger U.S. market.
U: Where are you currently piloting Imagine-X?
MV: We are piloting with Shelbourne in 3-4 offices within 20 Church Street, Lexington Properties in the Temple Street apartments that are currently undergoing renovations, and operating in sprints with Upward @ 196 Trumbull.
U: What is the key takeaway for potential clients, partners, and users of your product?
MV: Imagine-X works with a SaaS model - we customize our product based on our client’s needs and business processes and then collect specific metrics as the product works so that we can continue to align with changing business needs.
U: Tell us about you.
MV: I am a serial entrepreneur - Imagine-X is my 4th startup, which was a spinoff from a project at Universidad de los Andes. A fun fact about me is that I am an objectivist and a salsa dancer.
